People have such extraordinary courage. It's the people who have the very least who have the most courage and the most generosity toward others.
I stumbled across an interview with Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, in Esquire yesterday that truly electrified me. This woman is AMAZING. Although I can't find the interview online yet, I wanted to share two snippets (see above and below) that make me proud to be a woman and inspired to continue my activist work. Because Cecile is damn right: generosity doesn't cost a dime. Each of us contains the capacity to be truly brave, profoundly kind, and deeply giving.
And when it comes to continuing to show our support for Planned Parenthood, let's hold this quote of Cecile in our hearts: "The women who come to Planned Parenthood are not coming to make a political statement. They come because they need affordable health care, or maybe they found a lump in their breast and have nowhere else to go, or they badly need birth control and can't afford it."
Cecile Richards and the many incredible people who contribute to and work for PP protect our right to nourish, love, and care for our bodies. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
