This week's wisdom comes to us in the form of The King of Pentacles. The suit of pentacles represents wealth, material resources, physical wellbeing-- anything on the material plane. The King in any suit represents a person with decision-making power and authority. While this may be a person external to you, I'm more of the mind that it's a voice internal to you. The King can represent the voice of authority/power within yourself, when you choose to tap into it.
Here we see the King sitting in his garden, in what looks like peaceful abundance. He's wearing jewelry and a crown, suggesting material wealth. This card represents the part of us that makes the decisions that will bring us this wealth. If you have business decisions to make, or investments, or communication, or ideas you wish to launch--this card represents tapping into your inner decision-maker. Trust the part of you that expresses authority. Trust your incisive power to choose.
It's also important to remember that Pentacles represent anything on the material plane-- not just money. So, while we may wish to use the King's power to bring in money, it may also come in the form of material resources, good bodily health, unexpected gifts (it is the holidays, after all…), unexpected communication; anything in the tangible realm. When there's something you desire, remember that you have a King of Pentacles within you. Use his calm voice of authority to bring the desired object to you.
A quick note of caution, though-- the King doesn't care what the object of your desire is. He's just the voice that makes decisions to bring it to you. So before tapping into his power, it's useful to take a long look at what it is you think you want. What do you expect it to bring to you? Is it truly what you wish? If it is, awesome. Remember that there is the voice of a King of Pentacles inside you, and make some snappy, smart decisions.
happy inner-kingdom-ruling, everyone. xo
